About the practice
The Inconvenient Layer.
Mandantis is a vendor-neutral advisory practice. We design the operating architecture organisations need before deploying AI agents.

Sean Simmons
Founder, Mandantis Group
Twenty-five years inside enterprise delivery — Dynamics 365 and Power Platform at federal scale, plus the broader Microsoft estate, across financial services, government, healthcare, and professional services.
The pattern was always the same. Organisations bought capable systems and watched them underperform — not because the systems failed, but because the operating decisions around them were never designed. The architectural layer between strategy and execution went unowned. Owning it slowed delivery down. So nobody owned it.
Mandantis exists to own that layer. Independent practice. No partnerships. No platform allegiances. Architecture advocacy is structurally incompatible with selling the next implementation engagement, which is why this work falls to firms small enough to refuse the implementation revenue.
Architecture advocacy is a thinking practice, not a delivery practice. It scales with judgement, not headcount.
- 25 years enterprise architecture and governance
- Federal-scale engagements across regulated environments
- Continuous Architecture Advocacy methodology
- Independent practice — no partnerships, no platform allegiances
- Based Sydney, working globally
We sell nothing on the other side of the recommendation.
Diagnostic and design only. No implementation revenue. No reseller agreements. No referral commissions. No platform certifications.
Architecture advocacy requires holding the line for years on the kind of retainer that cannot support a partner-leverage model. The economics will not stretch for tier-one firms — the advocate has to be willing to say not yet, and firms whose revenue depends on the next mobilisation cannot afford the role.
The work falls to firms small enough to refuse the implementation revenue.

The name
Mandantis.
From mandare — Latin for mandate, authority, the act of entrusting. The word behind governance and the right to act. The name reflects the practice: building the authority structures that make intelligent operations possible.
Architecture built before deployment is a competitive advantage.
Architecture built after an incident is damage control.
The agent is not the problem. The architecture is. And the layer is no longer optional.
